Our Christmas tree: we've gone to the boy scouts lot the past few years, and have lucked out with some nice trees. This years tree was freshly cut just 2 days prior. We could definitely tell the difference, as it didn't lose any needles for the first week and a half. Nothing better than a fresh cut tree in the house to make it feel like Christmas.
So excited to put her ornament on it...as soon as Daddy brought it in the house |
Showing her baby doll the Christmas tree |
Addison helped decorate the tree, or at least she tried to. She insisted that she put up the small glass bulb ornaments...and then also wanted to play with them by banging them together....hard to convince a 2year old that the ornaments weren't toys..and "we just look at the tree, we don't touch it" - after it was all decorated. I must say she's been really good, and so has Miss Kali dog. (she had her fill eating 7 ornaments 2 years ago).
Visit to Santa Claus...much better than last year (screaming, crying, hysterical) for Addison. Although, she still wasn't keen on sitting on his lap...as she clung to me. I didn't force it, so of course Mommy makes all the photos. Parker did great...and was actually awake for his first visit to see Santa. Santa was in a little trailer in downtown Geneva with Mrs Claus...very cute setup and beats waiting in the lines at the mall.
"I'm keeping my eye on you old man" |
We made a Ginger Bread house as well (between Parker's 2hr feedings one day). I don't know if Addy had more fun tasting the frosting or decorating it... and now she wants to look at (and taste) her masterpiece all the time.
Breakfast with Santa - the Knights of Columbus -
Addy and Parker were called up first...Addy got a big Cinderella doll and Parker got a rubber ducky. Parker was the first one called, for his very first Christmas
Making ornaments with Auntie Lauren, wating for Santa |
Baking cookies for Santa. I don't remember the last time I made cookie cutouts...which will now be a tradition in this house. It was a lot of fun, and Addy's favorite part was the rainbow sprinkles.
