Well, this will definitely be a day to remember.
Adam and I were able to luckily leave a little early from work on Tuesday 2/1/11 at 2:45 to make it to "school" to pick up Addison at 3:45-an hour to go the usual 25minutes wasn't horrible, but it was definitely slow going.
We were home by 4:30 and hunkering down, watching the news reports of all the stranded drivers already and the 3-4hr commute times from the city. I don't think we could be happier to be home as a family.
As the night progressed the snow continued to fall and the winds continued to pick up. They were howling and blowing and our corner lot house seemed to take a beating.
Kali didn't want to go out much last night, I think she knew that it was getting bad--- but that didn't stop her today!
I woke up at the usual 5am, but Addison wasn't awake yet, so I went downstairs to check out the damage. There was definitely a lot of snow, but a calm in the storm as the snow had stopped briefly.
Addison seemed to know it was a snow day too, because after she had her morning milk, and played with mommy and daddy in bed for a little while, she crawled back up onto my chest and fell asleep. It was so sweet, and we all took another little nap before the day began.
7:30am the snow was coming down hard again and blowing around like crazy. It really was what they predicted.
Adam went out to dig out with his shovel, when our neighbor Adam lended him his snowblower in turn for a case of Corona. :) This helped out a lot, but it still took him close to 3hrs to clear the driveway and sidewalks.
Kali was in her glory all day long, running, jumping, diving in and out of the snow. I went out to play with her for awhile and I think wore the both of us out.
Addison was having a blast all day while her Mommy and Daddy were both home with her, crawling all over the place and playing with her best friend, Kali. We took her outside for a couple minutes to experience the snow and all it's glory. I think sh loved it, and can't wait to play more in it in the years to come.
Hanging out in Mommy and Daddy's bed
