Happy 1st Birthday Parker!

Happy 1st Birthday Parker Ryan!
Oct. 29, 2013.

What a year it's been.  I never knew my heart could grow bigger with the love I have for you and your sister. I definitely think you have made our family more complete.  It's hard to imagine our lives without you in them - and I thank God for that.  I have been able to see you grow into such a sweet, funny, physical little baby boy these past 12 months.  The first year really is so special, and you CHANGE so much and GROW so much.

Your favorite things:
Thomas "the choo-choo train", "The wheels on the bus", your taggie blanket, books - especially "brown bear, brown bear" and "snuggle puppy".

Eating: You LOVE to eat - and are a healthy, growing boy. New foods this month: ice cream (you loved the chocolate), birthday cake, graham crackers - new favorite snack, spaghetti 0's, chicken nuggets. You still continue to love FRUIT - bananas, blueberries/raspberries.  And you're interested in whatever anyone is eating...and want to taste it all. ie: our cereal, french fries, our yogurt, and of course anything Addison is eating. :)

Not yet buddy...

Sleeping: I think we might FINALLY be getting some progress with this area.  You've slept pretty consistently through the night from 11-12 months - from 730-8pm to 5-530am. Naps are a little better too - but typically about 45min - 1hr in the morning 9-10 or 10-11; and 1-2hrs in the afternoon between 1-3.

Crazy hair baby....looks so much darker in this picture than it really is...blondie

Playing: You're really enjoying playing now with all sorts of things - be it toys, or the tupperware and pots/pans/spoons.  You like things that move - and got a lot of trains, cars, trucks for your birthday which you LOVE to watch - and your sister helps it turn into a race.  You're playing more in the play kitchen "cooking" and "sharing" food items.  You also love to play with blocks - can even stack 2-3
blocks - but you LOVE to knock them down (especially after Addison builds a BIG tower). Books continue to be one of your favorite things to do/see/read (just like big sissy)....you'll sit contently looking through lots of books - and pulling them all off the shelves. :)

Communication:  About 2 weeks before your birthday you started "talking" more and more. You've been consistently saying "momma", "up", "pup-pup" (puppy). Waving bye-bye and hi a lot too. Still trying to do some sign language - but you haven't seem to catch on - as you get your point across by pointing and grunting/yelling in the direction of what you want - even if it's hanging from your high chair , or going to the pantry door. :)

Nursing: Started weaning this month - and as of your birthday are down to morning/evening feedings. So glad to not be pumping anymore...and planning to wean in the next month completely. You've transitioned to whole milk very easily as well. Still with the bottle...but trying sippy cup for milk too.

Physically: You have perfected your art of walking - and are now running around the house. Sometimes moving faster than your little legs will take you - and that leads to many falls, but you bounce right back up.  Mostly, you're running away from your sister, or running away with something you shouldn't have or going towards Kali's water/food bowls - that you love to splash.  You are starting to become the little climber now - climbing in/out of toy bins and boxes; as well as wanting to climb up the stairs - which are officially gated off from access now. We've removed the chairs from the kids table because you thought it was so much fun to stand on them - and then stand on the table. My little daredevil.

Dancing: You have become a little mover and shaker - you LOVE music, and your signature dance move of the moment is swinging your right arm in front of your body side to side with the music - with a little 3 tooth grin on your face...so sweet, makes my heart smile every time.

Classic Chair pictures this month....made me a little tearful doing these last pictures with you in the chair...but, it's time to move forward my little man. Your sister definitely was a big helper, or antagonist to a lot of these pictures this year...it sure was fun to watch both of you grow.

Puppy Dog Birthday Party: Sunday Oct 27th at our house - with mostly family and some friends.

Not a fan of going in your high chair to be sung to initially...

But then sissy came to the rescue to help blow out your candle

Still not sure....

A taste prompted by Daddy...

Mmmmm

11 Months

It's been a month of perfecting his walking ability... Hard to believe that he's so little and young to be so mobile and active...but it's so fun to see!
The month started out with a few steps here and there...and now he's really making his way around the house.  He's really only crawling about 25% of the time now, or less...as he prefers to stand up and try to keep walking when he falls down.

Eating: this month we've really progressed to mostly all table food at this time - he'd rather eat a cut up version of what we're eating, rather than his baby food. New foods include: eggs, beans (chili), spaghetti, mac n cheese, frozen/canned and fresh vegetables. It's nice to make him and Addison the same lunches now - and for us all to sit down to eat together.

Sleeping: finally getting a breakthrough in this area!! :) Napping 2x per day still usually 9-10am and 2-330/4. Night time is doing better as well with minimal if any wake ups in the middle of the night, sleeping 8-5; up to nurse at 5/530 then back to sleep till 630/7. He's doing better about going back down in his crib in the mornings as well. And we are much happier being able to sleep a little more now. :) Hard to believe how we all functioned on such little sleep for so long.

Playing: Parker is so cute now playing with EVERYTHING around the house. Whether it's the toilet  paper roll, Addison's princess dolls, blocks, or his baby toys...he's into EVERYTHING. He loves to push his little cart around the house- and chase Addison pushing her shopping cart. They go around and around all day long. Now that he's walking more, he's able to play in the play kitchen and with toys at different heights. I think he's found a new world to explore now. He really loves to watch things move - like toy cars, trains, and rolling/throwing balls. He's really a BOY.

Language: still not saying a ton yet. Trying to say Addy, Hi, Up.
But, is able to communicate his needs by pointing and grunting at things. :) Addison usually is a big helper in telling us what he wants or needs (or at least she seems to think so).

Big Sister Addison is really enjoying playing with  Parker now that he is more mobile and upright now:
She likes to teach him and read books to him...and he's totally into it (for the most part)

So sweet until....

Squeezing his cheeks and knocking him over....(sigh)...

Loves Kali dog - and she loves him. His FAVORITE animal is a Dog

Loves to open and close doors...and play peek-a-boo
My little boy:

We made a surprise visit to see Great-Grandma Carlson and Uncle Dick this month, along with Grandma Jones... it was a nice afternoon visit

Always playing with the bears at grandmas... :)

Didn't take as many pictures this month....as I've spent most of my days chasing around this little guy...and playing referee at times.  He's a daredevil....such a boy. We. are. in. trouble.
Looks like I mostly documented this month in videos with my new MotoX phone...just a twist of the wrist and it was on... (now I have to figure out how these videos will work on blogger)
