We arrived home on Halloween, with our little pumpkin and was greeted by our little princess, Snow White. (and Kali dog)
Adam went to Addison's party at daycare, and then took her trick or treating in the neighborhood that afternoon. However, she was more interested in spending time and holding her new baby brother.
I must say those first few days at home went much smoother in transition than I was originally expecting. Parker-man had a great first night and only woke up 2x...sleeping for a good 4hr stretch. I was the one who had to wake him up to eat, as I was staring at him wide awake, and sore.
Grandma Jones came down to help and visit with her grandchildren. |
I think the smiles on our faces say it all...so happy with our two blessings.
Addison has been such a good helper, and big sister, from assisting with diaper changes, to letting out Kali. She's also done AWESOME with going to the bathroom...and now even goes in there all by herself sometimes. Although, there are still the moments that I am feeding him in one hand and helping her with the other hand.

Adam was able to stay home the whole first week, which flew by too fast.
Monday was my first day as a mother of two all by myself, and I must say, "I did it!" My biggest success has been getting them both to nap at the same time, which has occurred about 50% of the time now. When this happens, I'm able to nap, and function so much better.
Addy is going to school 2 days a week now, to help with the transition and keep her in her routine. This is good for her, and for Parker and I. I'm able to have 2 days of sole baby bonding with my little man, and surprisingly get a lot more done around the house. It's amazing the perspective you have the second time around. Overall, I think it's easier with the second child, as they just fall into your routine, whereas the first born is a complete life changer.
Parker has been a typical newborn: eating, sleeping, peeing/pooping and crying. But, overall he is a real chilled out baby. He can just hang out in his swing or bouncer as he watches what's going on in the world around him. Typically is awake for a good 1-1:30hrs, and then sleeps for 1-2hrs between each feeding. He was already getting on a 3hr feeding cycle, until today of course, where he's been cluster feeding every 2hrs.
Growth:
Friday Nov 2nd at his 4 day check up:6lbs 9oz (up 2oz from discharge wed at hospital) and still 19.5";my milk came in 1 day early on Wednesday and he was starting to feed really well.
Monday Nov 15th -2 week check up: 7lbs 6oz; Length: 20.75"

Doesn't your first baby seem giant sized when she was still little just before Parker's arrival? It's a weird phenomenon.
