Fall Festivities...16-17 Months

I just love this time of year...the weather is perfect...the leaves our changing...cool brisk breeze...and this fall season kicks off with our 4th wedding anniversary.  Where has the time gone?! I love you now more than ever, Adam Michael.

This seems to be the first fall in 3 years I've been able to enjoy though...considering we got Kali in September of 2008...many sleepless nights.  Then I was pregnant in 2009 first trimester sleepiness.  Then Addison was 3-5 months old in 2010....more sleepless nights.

We've enjoyed our share of fall festivals, pumpkin patches, and Halloween fun as a family this year.

Here are some pics of our family weekend up in South Haven, Michigan.  Beautiful place.  Looking forward to going next summer perhaps as well? Thanks to Adam's cousins Patrick and Olga for letting us stay in there beautiful home away from home. We went Honey Crisp Apple picking...sooo yummy. 40lbs worth.

Our little girl is getting so big!!!

Typical morning before "school" and work...eating and brushing her teeth. :)

She's getting better at feeding herself with a spoon and a fork...as she insists she do it herself!! Miss Independent!

We went to the Brookfield Zoo with Brian and Sarah as well in October...it was a beautiful 85 degree day...we really lucked out!

Goeberts Farm (Hoffman Estates, IL) is a great place for kids and adults.  It has a huge pumpkin patch, plenty of kid friendly activities, and a zoo with farm animals and even a camel and giraffe! We went with my mom, Grandma Jones...and it was a nice quiet outing for the 3 of us on a Wednesday.

Sonny Acres Farm (West Chicago, IL) is such a fun place for kids...we went last year too...but this time Addison got to ride on a train with Grandpa Seghi and go into the petting zoo...not once, but twice!  She loves her animals! We had fun with Grandma and Grandpa, Auntie Lauren, Auntie Jessica (Uncle Nick missed out).

Halloween:
Addison had a Halloween Parade and party at Daycare...Adam and I went to join in the fun.  She definitely was enjoying herself...and it was fun to see her interact with the other kids while we were there.  She is definitely a leader in her room, initiating whatever activity first and then all the kids follow her.

Her friend, Evan was a moo cow too!!

Playing with playdoh...definitely not something I would do with her at home, those teachers are brave.

Then we went trick or treating at Grandma (Ga-Ga) and Grandpa (Pa-Pa) Seghi's house and a few houses in their neighborhood before heading back home to ours.

This woman thought Addy was just the cutest, this was before she grabbed the bowl from her...

First taste of her "treats"

Addison's new tricks:

She is chatting up a storm, I can't even seem to keep track of all of her new words.  I feel like she says 2 new things, at least, per day.  She's also repeating every word we say...yes, we need to be careful.  She even can say "Bumble-bee tuna" - ha! :) Excuse me "scuse me", "help" (this is helpful to avoid a screaming fit), and is definitely saying please and thank you.  She says "rocka-rocka" when she wants us to rock her in her chair, and now she is doing this with her stuffed animals, especially her dolly and bear. She has a "First 100 Words" book, and she pretty much knows the whole thing now...to give you an idea. It's so nice to be able to communicate with her now. She tells us "eat" or "snack" when she is hungry, or "wa-wa" or "milk" when she is thirsty...and our little lady still loves to eat!! But, her rolls are diminishing by the day.  She's wearing 18-24month clothes, and even some 2T...how is this possible!! Our little baby is not much of a "baby" anymore!

Addison loves to give kisses and hugs and say "awww.." as she does this. So cute!

She is also becoming a little drama queen at times...I know we will have our hands full as she gets older.  She likes to just throw herself back or on the ground when she's not happy about something, or doesn't get what she wants...it's pretty funny, so we have to try not to laugh.  But, at the same time make sure she doesn't hurt herself.

Her favorite thing is still reading books...and now she likes to "sit" on the couch or her rocking chair in her room to read, with her "ki-ki" (blankie) on her lap. She tells us to "sit" with her, or tells Kali to "sit" and makes her lie down so she can basically sit on top of her. Then she reads in her own language, sounds a little Japanese at times...with intermittent real words or animal sounds like: "ribbit" or "shoe" it's pretty cute! We just listen to her and smile...

She loves to color too...and even asks to "color" now.
